Volunteers at Leicester Family Contact Centre, who provide NACCC accredited child contact services, welcomed Liz Kendall, Member of Parliament for Leicester West and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.

Liz visited the centre and met volunteers who provided information about the Centre, including numbers and sources of referrals and the summary of the latest User Survey. They explained the service they offer; the impact it has on families and the funding challenges they currently face.

Established in 1989, the centre operates from St Martin’s House, linked to Leicester Cathedral’s Community Outreach Programme. It provides Supported Contact, where children and young people can reconnect with non-resident parents/family members following divorce or separation.

With a vast array of toys, games, art equipment, and resources suitable for all ages, the centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for children to thrive. Because of its central location, it’s accessible to families who use public transport, and when families are able to go out for a short period of time, there are several child-friendly places nearby.
