Leicester Family Contact Centre
St Martins House, 7 Peacock Lane, Leicester LE1 5PX
Parents: Responsibilities and Expectations
All Parents:
- Children are the responsibility of parents at all times. One parent must be on the premises with the children and expected to supervise the children on the play equipment and stairs. This is not a supervised contact centre.
- Supported contact is a temporary measure used to re-establish trusting relationships. You are expected to move on and make your own contact arrangements in the next few months.
- If contact has been delayed for any reason, the session will end no later than 3.40pm when the Centre closes.
- Any person displaying violence, bad language, intimidation or aggression inside or directly outside the Centre, may lose their place at the Centre.
- Any person arriving at the Centre under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave immediately and may lose their place.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the grounds of the Centre or the car park.
- Children of all ages use the Centre, including babies and toddlers. Please do not bring any flying toys, toy guns or other toys that could cause harm to small children. This includes balls, which have sometimes caused accidents with smaller children.
- Children should not be asked to pass gifts, money, or messages (either verbally or written between parents).
Visiting Parents:
- Visiting parents may not bring any other person with them to the Centre unless agreed in the referral form.
- Once contact begins visiting parents should remain in the Centre and must not access any other part of the building apart from the toilet.
- Parents may take photos of their own children. For Child Protection and Safeguarding reasons, no photographs of other children, adults and volunteers may be taken whilst at the Centre. Photographs taken at the Centre may not be posted on social media.
Resident parents
Once Contact has started the resident parent may use the waiting room or leave the Centre.
